Logic Model (in progress)

Problem

Youth, families, schools, organizations and systems in Mercer County— specifically in and around Trenton—have limited access to year around sanctuary in nature that can offer a range of experiences that promote wellness, ignite creativity, teach leadership, and effectuate justice, healing and transformation.

COVID-19 has created challenges to sustaining youth and community programs that are solely housed in buildings and closed spaces.

Assumptions

We all need more opportunities to stimulate our Vagus Nerve.

“When people are relaxed and resourced, they have the power to change the systems that are creating stress and trauma.” -Lumos Transforms (Instagram: lumos_transforms July 21, 2020)

Spaces and sanctuary for the community need to be informed and driven by the community.

Our well-being is strengthened when we take sanctuary and space from media and get outside.

Young people have raw and limitless potential to change the world.

Exposure to green space at a young age increases emotional intelligence, promotes academic achievement, and encourages social mobility.

Systems serving children, youth, and families need protected space and time to heal, strengthen, innovate, and transform.

Justice, equity and equality will be achieved when love, belonging, creativity, rest and anti-racist actions are anchored in communities.
